Stolen X | "Shots"

Shot on an Alexa Mini with Atlas Anamorphics.  The bar was supposed to feel like a large, hoppin space, but the location we shot in was a little tighter than we'd hoped for. In an effort to make the bar feel just a little larger than it was, I used a 40mm lens most of the time, which in anamorphic world felt like it did the trick in making the space feel more expansive.  We had a ton to shoot over two days.  To save time for lighting resets, we mostly keyed with China Balls over the tables, and set a bunch of Quasars in the background for color, then shot things out from there.  Space was too tight and the schedule too packed to get a proper dolly in there, so we used a Dana Dolly for mobility, which worked out swimmingly.

When the two characters order the shots from the bar at the beginning, we had about ten minutes to reset and light that entire side of the bar and shoot it before the day ended, which was impossible.  There were crew and equipment and etc. etc. on that side of the bar, and zero time to clear it. To cheat it, we flooded the area with fog, colored things up with a Quasar or two, and quickly shot the scenes.
